Special Creative Goodie Bag:

Of course I’ll also be offering some special gifts, so be sure to stay to the end of the webinar in order to take advantage of those!

Materials:

  • Acrylic paint
  • Brush
  • Art Journal with thick pages, like a watercolor journal
  • Bits and pieces of your art that you can collage with
  • Non-acidic glue
  • Paint or gel pen in white or other color

If you’ve got these materials on hand, that’s great. If you are looking for some guidance, see below.

Art Journal:

I like a watercolor journal or mixed media journal with a thicker page. I’ve had much better luck painting and layering in these journals. You may have one you love already though. Here’s what I love if you need a recommendation:

I love working in more than 1 journal at a time, so you might want to have more than 1 handy in case we need to let 1 dry while we work on another. This is not necessary though.

Acrylic Paint:

I love using high flow acrylic paints, but you can definitely use regular acrylics. If you are looking to try the high flows, you can get a set like this one: Golden High Flow Acrylic Paint Set, or buy two similar colors that go well together to try it out. I recommend using gloves or glove cream if you are going to get your hands in acrylic paint.

Starting set of brushes:

Pre-Prep homework:

Here’s the really fun part – gathering, or creating, some materials for collage. Start gathering some of the following:

  • Watercolor paintings that have pretty bits but didn’t really work.
  • Drawings you like, partially.
  • Paper cut bits and pages that haven’t found a home.
