PERFECT timing. Dawdling for days! I have bought everything I need and still I diddle….wander past it and stare at that white page. Today I am going in to play and tell that inner critic to be quiet and sit down! lol
Hi Tracy!
OH, that’s perfect! I’m so thrilled to hear that this arrived at the right moment for you. Funny how that persnickety critic keeps us from doing what we love! Just remember, we are all with you as you sit down and ask her (or tell her) to step aside because IT’S OKAY!
Cheers
Amy
this was SO entertaining! you have such a wonderful ‘podcast’ voice…and more importantly, I love everything you cover in this particular episode. xo
Hi Roxanne!
How cool that you dropped by! Haha, thanks for the kind words about the podcast, I tried to do my best Terry Gross voice. I’ve been enjoying your video blogs, and the last one on things 5 Ways to Stay Inspired was great, especially the part about the unique way you use inspiring words.
Happy Creating!
Amy
Amy, I am having a Wizard of Oz kind of day. Feeling very shakey waiting for the curtain to be pulled back, revealing my failings. Your podcast gives me lots to think on. Thank you!
HI Joan:
Oh gosh, I hope that the message helped in some way. those days are not fun! The inner critic really has a way of distorting things for us sometimes – I’m so glad you are finding ways to get your feet back on (creative) ground.
Creatively Yours,
Amy
Loved listening! Greatly reaffirming for what I’ve been attempting with my art these days. Thank you!
Hi Joy:
I am SO glad to hear that this message hit home for you. I’m thrilled with all the art you’ve been producing, and the COURAGE you show in creating. It’s great fun to watch!
Cheers,
Amy
Hi Amy. Thanks for this encouraging and inspiring podcast! You really struck a few chords with me today. The Beginner’s Mind…Yeah, embrace that! I am finally really easing up on the negative self-talk that my art isn’t worthy or valuable, and this podcast helped me honor what I have been doing these past 2 years or so. I was sooo artistic as a child but the message was clear that art was frivolous. It amazes me still how I allowed that message to rob me of so much joy and my innate creative nature for decades! So again, thank you. ..for validating my experience and encouraging me to keep going! By the way, I find a lot of meaningful connections between my art journey and other aspects of my life, like work, home, relationships… Powerful stuff!!
Those connections ARE powerful Eileen! I so appreciate hearing about how it’s all connecting up in your life and so grateful to know my words could reassure you. I’m so happy you’ve reconnected with your true, artistic spirit. I know you help do that for others too.
Cheers,
Amy
Hi Amy
Thanks for all your inspiring words and drawings
It is a real learning to understand the inner workings of our psyche as we develop ones artistic abilities
Being watchful of our emotions is key in unlocking ones full development as an artist
Thank you for your insightful guidance
HI Andriaana:
I’m so happy that you have cultivated a mindfulness practice in your art. Thanks for reading! xo Amy
