Finding Time for Self-Care
Finding time for self-care is a challenge for most of us, so I’d like to help make it a little bit easier and a lot more fun.
[bctt tweet=”Self-care is not a luxury, it’s a necessity for living a balanced life – Mindful Art Studio #5for5selfcare #selfcare”]
This August 3rd – 7th, join me and a community of like-minded people for the second annual Self-Care Challenge. Here’s a little video introduction I’ve made to help explain a bit more.
We are going to have so much fun together!
You can click here to learn more about the challenge and prizes. You can also click here to check out last year’s challenge and get a sense for how truly lovely the community was that came together that week. Be sure you are on my mailing list to participate.
Will you drop in the comments and let me know how you liked the video? Please share widely too so that we can have an amazing experience together!
Special thanks for this video post to my director, shot coordinator, key grip, set assistant, “Gone Postal” woman, and additional set unit photographer, Melissa Norcross.

Cute video and I love the challenge! I just signed up!
HI Jenn:
Welcome to Mindful Art Studio and I’m psyched that you are going to join us in the challenge! Making the video reminded me of one of the most important elements in my self-care toolbox: being silly and creative. That playfulness is a big part of what I find really helps folks to zone down and shake off some of life’s stresses and get ready for creativity.
I can’t wait to connect more.
Cheers,
Amy
Amy, thanks for the shout-out! I really enjoyed (needed) the silly time that day. It was a great self care exercise for me to carve out some time to connect and laugh with a friend, and do something helpful/productive all at once. I’ve also gotten more than a few laughs watching the video, particularly my short but very sweet cameo. I’m looking forward to taking part in the self care challenge again.
HI Melissa!
That’s what I love about you, girl, when you do something you COMMIT. I had to turn the volume down on that going postal bit from 100% to 16%! Seriously though, you know how not to take yourself too seriously, and I think that is a huge gift for self-care. I can’t wait to have you in the challenge too – I’m psyched to hear about your experiences.
Cheers,
Amy
Hi Amy,
Thank you for showing us the easy ways that you incorporate self-care into your life. It is so nice and generous of you to encourage us all to make this a part of our lives.
It is truly so important. If we do not care for ourselves, we get depleted and start having a hard time really being there for the people we love and/or those we are providing counseling for.
Re your video, I loved it! You really went out of you way to make it funny and entertaining, even including a couple of video bloopers there in the middle 🙂
And mind you, I have a tendency to dislike videos because they tend to take longer than reading. But your short and funny video was cute !
Thank you!
HI Dorlee!
Thanks so much for the feedback about the video – I’m glad you liked it. Being goofy is actually a big part of my self-care, which, unless I’m making a video, usually does not take any time at all! I’m glad it spoke to you. : )
I think your point about taking care of ourselves in order to be able to take care of others always bears repeating. Thanks for all you do to help so many of us focus on self-care, Dorlee.
Cheers!
Amy
Hey, Amy
This is just INCREDIBLY inspiring! Loving that first pic of you + the video 🙂
Hugs,
Aldy.
HI Aldy!
You are so sweet. Thank you so much for the lovely comment and your enthusiasm. I hope you participate in the challenge in a few weeks. Stay tuned!
Cheers,
Amy
