REGISTRATION CLOSES THURSDAY, APRIL 30th at 10 am!
Together, we will lead you on an adventure of creative and personal discovery through your “inner landscape,” and through a mindful art experience that can open up the channels of creativity.
In a relaxed state, with the worries and distractions of the day cleared to the side, your inner wisdom can speak to you about how to feel more light, grounded, connected, or free. Hypnosis is a powerful technique to help you tap into your own knowledge.
Once the hypnosis has ended, you wil use mindful art techniques to bring the visions and sensations that you experienced to life. With natural materials, vibrant paints, beads, fabrics, and string, you will create a talisman, or a visual marker, to keep this powerful experience present in your life.
- Absolutely no art experience is necessary.
- No meditation or hypnosis experience is necessary
- All art supplies are provided, though you may bring any natural or art materials you wish
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a mind/body healing technique that can be used to positively influence and redirect subconscious thoughts and though patterns.
Hypnosis, like meditation, is generally regarded as a therapeutic and enjoyable experience, marked by intent and selective focus, and feelings of relaxation and rejuvenation. Participants will be in control of their experience, and the depth of their trance.
What is Mindful Art?
Mindful art is art that combines the usual art making techniques with mindfulness techniques. Being very present in the here and now is the goal of mindfulness.
The sensory experience of art making is encompassing – seeing anew the colors of the papers, feeling the brittle texture of the leaves, or inhaling the earthy scent of acrylic paint, making a meditative state easier to reach. Mindful art is a way to achieve flow.
When you really tune into the process of art making, you can become a conduit through which creative energy flows, and instead of doing the art, the art does you. This opens up a whole new world of discovery, artistic imagination, and release that can benefit the most or the least experienced artist.
For our purposes, mindful art also refers to combining art making with hypnosis – using art materials to render the powerful images, shapes, colors, and sounds that appeared to you in your hypnotic journey.
In the Meditative Art workshop, you will:
- Experience a full-body progressive relaxation session
- Journey to the subconscious to awaken positive thought patterns and creativity
- Learn to tune into the sensory cues of art making in order to achieve mindfulness
- Create an artistic keepsake of your experience
- Receive thoughtful and supportive guidance every step of the experience in a small group environment
